Anna Auzins

We're a boutique interior design practice based Wimbledon, working throughout the country, creating the place that you want to come home to!

What inspired you to be an interior designer?

I think I must have made over the inside of my pram, I have always loved design and wanted to create beautiful homes -- I used to read interiors magazines as a child! I took longer to become a professional, however, and qualified as a designer after a career in management. 

If they were to make a toy action figure of you, what would your accessory be?

My bright yellow coat, a moodboard and a pair of shiny navy blue patent leather brogues! I love colour, and take that through all my work. 

To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life within the design world has taken?

It's been a combination of drive and determination, and leaping at opportunities as they have arisen. It was a leap to get the qualification to work professionally, and along the way I have been fortunate enough to work on some wonderful projects, and look forward to continuing!

What would be your dream interior project?

Large, whole-house renovations are my favourite, and I would love to do a boutique hotel, giving each room it's own character! Creating that feeling of "Ah, I'm home" is something I strive for in each project. 

What’s something you know you do differently than most people?

I both design and handle the project management, making sure it all actually happens -- so much of this work is in making sure everyone involved works together to achieve the end result. 

If you could go back in time and speak to your adolescent self, what advice would you give them about the design world?

To trust your taste and instincts about what works! And that quality always wins.
