We spoke with Sofía, who's impeccable and beautiful personality mimics her work ethics, where every aspect from construction to the last detail is overseen in each of her projects - which are created from her Interior Design studio based in Mexico City founded almost 7 years ago.
...and by the way, check out her favourite instagram accounts - now our favourites!
Hayche: What is your favourite Hayche product?
SA: The Loom barstool is my absolute favorite. Beautiful design plus comfort in one.
Hayche: If they were to make a toy action figure of you, what would your accessory be?
SA: A doll with a construction hat and stilettos.
Hayche: To what degree have you actually controlled the course your design life has taken?
SA: Ever since I opened my studio almost 7 years ago, we’ve been growing so much faster than what I had expected. It’s been an incredible ride, whom I am extremely grateful for. I am more in control now than before in terms of which projects I accept; I need to love the project and have a good energy with the clients.
Hayche: What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
SA: Mix and match, a fearless use of colour and impeccable service.
Hayche: What product or event inspired you to be a designer/work in the design industry?
SA: When I was a little girl I collected miniature furniture that my father would bring from his trips. Interior design is my biggest passion, it has never felt like work. There are a few things as good as getting paid for doing something you love.
Hayche: If you could design any existing item, what would you choose?
SA: A temple for spirituality and meditation or a bridge between Mexico and the US.
Hayche: If you could go back in time and speak to your adolescent self, what advice would you give them about the design world?
SA: Love and trust yourself. "When you truly accept and love who you are absolutely everything else flows."
Hayche: Favourite Instagram pages to follow?
SA: I love @ceramicasuro insane ceramic and pottery creations, @cedricgrolet the most beautiful desserts, @dezeen design everything, @theworldofinteriors amazing timeless interior design projects, @giopontiofficial a tribute to an icon!
@natgeo and @naturre - I love nature, I also adopt dogs and I’m a pescatarian on it’s way to becoming a vegetarian!
